Merge, split, reorder and number pages
Merge several PDFs into one, split a PDF by page or range, extract, delete, duplicate, rotate and reorder pages — all offline on your Mac.
Merge, split and reorganize PDFs offline in 1FileTool — every page operation on this page runs locally and the files never upload. The tools live in the PDF Tools group under Organize.
Protect your originals first
Replace source is ON by default: the output overwrites the original file and no backup is kept. Before following along, open Settings › General and turn Replace source off, or pick a separate output folder.
Merge several PDFs into one
Merge PDFs joins whole documents in the order you drop them.
- Open PDF Tools › Merge.
- Drop all the PDFs you want to combine, in reading order.
- Run it — the result is saved as
merged_<timestamp>.pdfin your output location.
Split one PDF apart
Three tools split different ways:
- Split by Page — every page becomes its own file, named
<name>_page1.pdf,<name>_page2.pdf, and so on. (Split by page) - Split by Range — you type ranges like
1-3, 5-8and each range becomes a separate PDF. The field hint reads "For example 1-3, 5-8." (Split by range) - Extract Pages — pull out just the pages you name, e.g.
1, 3, 5, into one new PDF. The field hint reads "Comma separated, for example 1, 3, 5." (Extract pages)
Reorganize pages inside one file
- Delete Pages — removes the pages you list.
- Reorder Pages — type the new page order as a comma list (for example
3, 1, 2puts page 3 first). - Rotate Pages — pick 90°, 180° or 270°; optionally limit it to a page list.
- Duplicate Pages — copies the listed pages.
For drag-and-drop reordering with page thumbnails, open the file in the Visual PDF Editor instead — its Reorder mode lets you drag pages into place.
Add page numbers
Page Numbers stamps a number on every page — bottom-center, starting at 1 — in a plain footer. For control over position and size, the visual PDF editor's Page Numbers tool exposes Position (six options, top or bottom) and Font size.
